On November 30, 2025, the “Cycle Festa in Kochi 2025 Autumn” was held at Kochi Velodrome (Nippon Totor Ryoma Stadium) and Sky Electronics offered power generation challenge attractions using its own product “Enetre” and the fitness-optimized “Enetre Bike.” Thank you very much to the many people who visited our attractions.
Our products, “Enetore” and “Enetre Bike,” are bicycle-type human power generators that allow you to experience generating electricity by pedaling a bicycle. At the venue, we saw many children energetically kicking pedals on Enetore.
On the day of the event, we were able to enter the track at a velodrome and those who wished could enjoy the rare experience of riding on the bank.
I personally don’t bet on keirin racing but I really like biking. Back in the day, I rode Miyata Randonners, mountain bikes like Giant ATX890, Cannondale F300, and Jamis Komodo, and I also rode an Intermax X-light road bike with Dura-Ace, and now I ride a Pinarello. Lately, I’m not so young anymore and don’t feel much energy, so I haven’t run much, but when I was in Tokyo, I often ran on roads in Hakone and Doshi which was used for the Tokyo Olympic road race.
So, when I started working at Sky Electronics in Kochi, I was truly surprised. There are several turbo trainers in the workshop! Moreover, there are pallets labeled ‘Shimano’ in the pallet storage area. Then, one day, while working on 3dCAD, I suddenly got a call. When I wondered what it was, I found a mountain bike fixed to a turbo trainer, which was connected to a computer.
Me: “What’s this?”
Manager: “Just give it your all and pedal as hard as you can.”
Me: “Oh, okay.”
Manager: “Once I press the start button, just go all out for one minute!” (…beep)
Me: “Huh? …Oh! Wait a sec…”
Manager: “Come on, pedal, pedal!”
Me: “Oh, okay, here goes (whirrr) Huff, huff, huff… Huh! Has it only been twenty seconds? Hah, hah, hah… Still thirty seconds? Hah, hah, hah… There are still twenty seconds left… My legs are going to give out… Ah, ah, ah…”
Manager: “Okay, last one, last one!”
Me: “Huff, huff, huff… What is… huff… this… huff, huff… exactly… huff, huff…”
Manager: “This is ‘Enetre,’ a machine that lets you train while generating electricity with your own energy. And from now on, I’ll be having you pedal this for output tests every so often.”
Me: “Whaaaat?!”
…And so, it turned out that Sky Electronics is a company with a deep connection to bicycles.
I’ve heard that our CEO and his wife used to go on cycling trips together to “Matsubagawa Spa,” a lovely hot spring located on a tributary of the Shimanto River.…
Shimanto Town, where Sky Electronics is located, features not only the relatively flat, scenic roads along the Shimanto River, but also Kurezaka—which climbs from Susaki to Nanako Pass, Katasaka— which leads toward Saga, and other routes descending to charming fishing villages like Shiwa and Okitsu. The entire area is like a little Giro d’Italia to me. This is a truly appealing location for cyclists who absolutely love hills, so please come and ride here at least once.
